Community Day • Barbecue & Spuds Festival


Whether you're a seasoned player or just Mahjong curious, join us for a fun day of casual play, good company, and community!


Open Play Sessions

FREE TO PLAY!

Players are welcome to join one or more open play sessions throughout the day. Open tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be reserved.

Each group may use an open table for one full round (approximately 90 minutes). At the end of the round, the table will be offered to the next group on the waitlist. If no one is waiting, you're welcome to stay and play another round.

LOOKING FOR A RESERVED TABLE?

Want to guarantee a table for your group? A limited number of reserved tables are available. Reserved tables may be booked for either the Morning Session (3 hours) or the Afternoon Session (3 hours). See below for reservation details.


Morning Session

  • 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

  • Two 90 minute rounds available (9am & 10:30am)

  • Tables reset between rounds

  • First come, First Served

  • 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

  • Two 90 minute rounds available (9am & 10:30am)

Table Reservations

Reserve a table for your group and support the Barnwell Community Organization.

  • Morning Table Reservation: $50 donation per table

  • Afternoon Table Reservation: $50 donation per table

Reserve your table and play as long as you want! Reserved table quantities are limited.


Bring Your Own Set… or Use Ours

  • Bring your favorite American Mahjong set, racks, and accessories if you have them.

  • A limited number of fully set-up tables will be available for players who do not bring a set.

  • Reserved tables must provide their own sets.


Beginner-Friendly

New to Mahjong?

  • We'll have volunteers available to introduce the basics, answer questions, and help new players get started. No experience is required!

Need a little more help?

  • Join one of our beginner lessons led by a local instructor! Lessons begin at 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.


Event Guidelines

  • Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your session begins.

  • Be respectful of other players and help games stay on schedule.

  • At the end of each round, please reset your table for the next group.

  • Food and beverages purchased at the festival are welcome.

  • This is a fun, social event—good sportsmanship is expected at every table.
